Parlour Guitar Demo - Hayleigh King - 2023

Hayleigh King is an award winning guitarist making music in Brighton (and beyond). I first met Hayleigh when she was playing as one half of the dark country duo, Tapes for Diane, in Southampton. After making this guitar I was searching my mind for who would really show off it's character best in a demo reel, and I knew it had to be Hayleigh. 

Here are some snippets from our session recorded at St Andrew's church, West Dean, close to where the instrument was made at West Dean College of Arts and Conservation.

Recorded using t.bone pencil mics in stereo pair at the 12th fret, as well as an over-the-shoulder positioned sE condenser mic. Mixed in Cakewalk with some compression, EQ and basic mastering. To hear the raw mp3, as well as individual open strings and harmonics, click here.
