Arpeggione (2024)
A recreation inspired by the Mitteis Arpeggione held in collection at the Musical Instrument Museum, Berlin.
This is a bowed-guitar, invented by Johann Georg Stauffer in the 1820s. Originally with gut strings, I have adapted the instrument for modern players - including carbon fibre reinforcement rods in the neck and Wittner geared tuning pegs, though the adjustable neck mechanism is a Stauffer original.
